Why there’s no dispensary in Malta
When New York legalized adult-use cannabis, each town got one chance to opt out of hosting dispensaries. Malta’s board did, for both retail shops and consumption lounges. The town is still fully legal for adults to buy and possess cannabis. It just can’t host a store, which is why Malta’s addresses send people a few miles in every direction.
Ballston Spa did not opt out, and Route 67 is the straightest line from Malta to a licensed shop.
